The current officers and staff of Animarathon are pleased to announce that the convention's new location is BGSU's Student Union. This location offers a more open layout with larger spaces for main events. Other major features include the food court with at least Wendy's, Starbucks (as far as we currently know), and 2Mato (a small pizza place) open (there may be more - we'll keep you posted) and the many comfortable lounge areas. Here I will post pictures of the rooms in which main events will take place, as well as any pictures of the Union (areas we will be using) requested.

This is the Ballroom. I apologize for my unfortunate inability to take a picture of an entire room at once. Anyway, this room has a capacity of
1100 people and will be used for the cosplay competition, GAME performance, and the dance.

This is the Multipurpose Room, conveniently shown with the poster sale in progress. This will be the Dealers' Room. It has a capacity of 364
people when set up as a theatre, but in vendor-setup the capacity is probably larger.

Artists will have their own room, specifically the Sky Bank room (201A&

. I could not get a picture of the room today because the two halves
were separated, but you can find information here. It has a capacity of 190 people when set up as a theatre, but like the Multipurpose Room
will probably have a larger capacity.

This theatre has a capacity of 246 people and will be used for our live-action showings and any animes which we believe will be particularly
popular.

If anyone has concerns about where something is located, we will also be printing floor plans in the programs for this year, and noting places of interest on each floor.

If you would like to have more information about the Union, you can feel free to view the website provided by BGSU. Also located within the site is a floor layout.

Oh wow, this is pretty amazing, I went to BGSU a couple years ago and the last Animarathon I went to, I staffed at, but wasn't able to go the past 2 years. I'm hoping to go to 2010's. It's awesome you guys got the union this go. So much more space.

WE'RE IN THE UNION THIS YEAR!!! That is so much easier then at Olscamp, I mean there's more of a walk, but we actually have space and that could help reduce the amount of the infamous Otaku funk smell.

How many viewing rooms are available? Are you using all 4 floors?

I am not personally sure how many viewing rooms there will be. I do know, however, that we will not be using the fourth floor.

The fourth floor cannot be used, because it's mostly a study area and an office area.

We are going to have at least four anime rooms: the theater will be used for live action series and movies, and there will be a room for subbed anime, a room for dubbed anime, and a mecha anime room.

There will also be children's anime playing in the kids room, but I don't think we will have that available to adults who do not have children. Safety concerns and all.

We did have to downsize the amount of anime rooms this year (I believe so, anyway), but we reviewed previous room attendances and it should work better this way. It's better to have a few rooms showing a variety than a lot of rooms that we could use for other things. (mecha is the exception to the rule, since it's a very popular genre)

Hey, this is awsome! But, we had a hard time finding olscamp last year... lol I'm afraid we arn't good with directions. haha Will there maybe be a sign or somthing out in front where we can maybe pinpoint where we will want to go? Not to be a pain... haha
