Hi, sorry for the delayed reply, been busy. Anyways, official information
regarding the program can be found in CIC's website. Regarding experience,
well, it could be a mixture of many emotions and things: fun, if you love
children or organizing fun stuff for kids, fun because you get to be employed
by a family, meaning, no job politics like in big offices or company. It could
also be frustrating, because you know, you are basically a maid - you get to
perform duties related and not related to childcare, like cleaning or cooking
for example. Good thing is, in Canada, you are entitled to many things such as
days off, holidays, overtime pays and stuff...many services and groups are also
available for learning and fun. THERE will be a lot of nannies and au pairs
too, some would be from your home town so you would not feel sad, night life is
alive in Vancouver, many sights are wonderful including nature and all. Good
Luck, and hope to see you here soon, you can also check out my other online
group, you will meet many au pairs and nannies there, majority from
Europe: http://nanny.meetup.com/182/ |

ActivityRank: 6 Hello to all my co members!! What a very nice question, what will we gonna do after two years? I will be two years working as a live-in caregiver on March 2010 in Princeton, ON. My employers asking me to work for them as long as they want because their son is just 3 years old so they really need a caregiver. My employers are both working so they need someone to take care for their son. I have a nice and kind employers and they treat me like a member of their family that is why it is very difficult for me to just leave them and I love them so, if they still need me I will still renew my employment contract with them... |
