I started out as a nanny/caregiver just like you. I took of other people too to have money for my sister's and brother's tuition. I am proud of my past job because it tested my capacity as a human being, my determination and my attitude. It is the most humbling experience I've ever had in my life, because not all people would be willing to do our job. I loved my nanny job because my income sends my siblings to school. If not for my hard work, I will not have a sister who is now a nurse and a brother who is now a radiologist. Although the job was fine, I used it as a starting point to achieve something else, a job that will allow me to do something different. I have managed our nanny agency, have coached nannies about the job and shared them what I have learned and what I know from my past experience. Right now, I am an advisor with Sun Life Financial. Most people think that I am an insurance sales agent which I am not, as I do not go to people selling, I see and talk to people about their goals and plans, I see their current financial situation and determine what they want to achieve in the future. It's more than just insurance, because insurance is one of the solutions. But, it is essential to know what the situation or concern is, before I recommend solution.
