Standard solutions are solutions of known concentration. You can use them to determine the concentration of another solution using titration, it can be acid-base, redox, complexometric, precipitation reaction, etc. But you can also use them in instrumental analysis, for example in atomic absortion spectroscopy, you need some standard solutions to make a calibration curve and then determine the amount of substance you want to analyse. They are used as well in reactions to ensure stoichiometry. hope it helps =P

Also keep in mind that the primary use of standard solutions The quantitative analysis focuses on the neutralization reaction to quantify other solutions and prepare solutions of known concentration. It is also important to know that a standard solution prepared with reagents high purity (99% ) and must be carefully handled to avoid contamination. I hope that this addition to serve you, if you have more questions do not hesitate to seek or Mao
