Where I place alot of the blame is on Hirelings and Heresy. There are so many who have been given wrong teachings for so long that they reject right teachings if only because it is foriegn to them. Too many denominations rely upon hirelings, who will teach the congregation only what the church elders (building/business/property holders) want taught. They only wish to fill seats and offering plates, and avoid all the topics that could cause discomfort. There are things which need to be taught, full strength, not watered down, and without added flavoring or sweeteners. Things which you often don't want to hear, but need to know if you desire to follow the "Way, Truth, and Light".
Today's church fears to offend the world, they seek to candy coat sinful lives. They teach "Forgiveness" but without "Repentance" and "Turning away from sin", which is just empty promises.
