Welcome to our group website for Digital Objects in the Classroom!
We started the Digital Objects in the Classroom project in 2008 to research best practice in the use of digital collections as a teaching resource.
Our team at Vassar College received a grant from NITLE to host a workshop, on March 16-17, 2009, to explore this subject. Teams of faculty, librarians, instructional technologists, and media specialists came from institutions across the country to participate. This site was created as a resource for participants and presenters before, during, and after the workshop. The most useful section of this site is the Wiki: there you can find information about the workshop itself, and we will also continue to add new wiki pages as we develop them. The Discussion page is a place where community members can raise questions about specific projects or general issues. We hope that more people, representing more institutions, will join this community and join in the discussion.
