Welcome to the 'Tracing our History' community, a social networking site for members of my family to communicate, contribute, discuss and interact with one another, all in an effort to get to know one another and our family history better. This community will provide a setting for meeting family members that we have never met before and provide a place that will allow us to trace our history together. It will also provide another means for keeping in touch with family that live closer to home. There is a wide range of opportunities here for all family members to get involved and contribute something (whatever it may be or however small it may be) to make this community the better for all.
What can be done here? As I have said above, their are many things that can be done.
You will be able to share family history information with others, raise questions about our history and take part in discussions regarding our history.
Photos, videos and documents can be shared with family members around the world via the facilities available here.
There are opportunities to share family stories, upcoming events, family happenings, etc, with all in the community, or if you like, you can set up a limited family group through the 'groups' facility here and thereby keep private information you don't wish to share with all.
Be sure to join the 'Geni' social network as well, which I have linked to this community via the block on the front page. This will allow you to update the online family tree which is only visible to people that you are happy to have it visible to (there are very tight privacy rules in place).
With the various links available across the community, including 'Kevin's Family - Online History Site,' can there be a better way to research our family history and keep in touch with family members all around the world? I doubt there is. This keeps it all relatively simple and available through a central 'portal.'
