Go into your member page, there is a new link there called Search, click this
and you can search by name, or click advanced search and you can search by a
number of parameters......so far if you choose one parameter it works great,
but if you choose more than one parameter its not seeming to be able to pick up
the extra filters and returns zero responses. But its a good start and looks
good! Cheers Andy

@Andy: I had already done that, but nothing shows up in the search results when
I try it. If I search for different things they answered as profile questions,
etc., nothing shows up...so I don't think their search engine is including
those things...unless I'm doing something wrong? The search bar at the top
picks up things from blogs and forums and whatnot, but it doesn't seem to do so
in profiles. And the one on the Members page is limited to Name, sex and
nationality. Btw, I notice that when I'm signed in as a regular member and not
an admin, some of the "Advanced Search" options disappear. When signed in as
admin I see: Name, Sex and Nationality as advanced search options. But when
signed in as a regular member, I see only Nationality in the advanced search
section. Anyone else notice this?

Hi @Alexis, If you want to see other options like "Name, Sex", you should check
the boxes next to these options. Then regular users will able to see these
search options as well. They are unchecked right now in your group. Only
"Nationality" is checked. Thanks, Grou.ps Team

Thanks Ali! I wasn't aware that checking them would adjust the search settings
for members...I thought it was only for doing my own search. Thanks so much for
clarifying that. |

Hello Guys and Ladies.. really a great improvment of the application.. here is
one thing that shoul be fixed or clearfy by the DEV team.. if you create
profile question with multi choise option and enable the checkbox , which
allows the member to chose MULTIPLE items of the multi select option, those
profile questions CAN NOT be serached for in ADVANCED SEARCH .. that means if
you like to enable members for to search for multi choise profile questions you
must currently UNCHECK multi choise option for that particular profile question
! Maybe the DEV TEAM can change that .. in the near future in case to further
improve our ADVANCED SEARCH and Filter Feature !

Any news or updates about the option to search by state or city? I was
actaully going to suggest it as a feature request and discovered this
thread. I have already included this as a profile question and it is a multiple choice answer since it may just be the case that some of our members are prominant in or frequent more than one location. It would therefore work best for us if multiple choice answers worked in the advanced search. Looking good so far though ...thanks! |
