Belle de Boskoop
From Holland, 1856, original name Schoener von Boskoop. Generally considered to be a mutation of Reinette Montfort. Semi-late apple, very popular in Northern Europe. Good keeper, hardy, very vigorous, russeted, large size, triploid.

GROWER COMMENTS:
Claude Jolicoeur, Quebec, Zone 4
This one has been an unexpected success in my zone 4 location near Québec. Beautiful large russet apples, good flavor with a hint of lemon taste, excellent hardiness and vigour, no scab, rich juice with a high sugar content and high acidity. Matures well but would probably benefit from a slightly warmer and longer summer.
Michelle (and Chris) McColl, Australia
We have had two Boskoop trees for about 8 years. Last winter grafted over 100 Fuji to Boskoop, after consistently good comments at Farmer’s Markets. Our observations are
Colour: around 50% russet on greenish yellow skin, yellowish flesh
Size: very large
Eating Quality: coarse textured flesh, excellent flavour with acidity
Disease Issues: unsprayed trees free from scab
Management Issues: prone to biennial bearing
