Lots of people have wondered where they would stay in Volcan and today we have the answer to that question. We found a great house with 3 bedrooms (soon to be 4) and 2 baths, a large kitchen, dining room, living room with a wonderful fire place and a great covered garage for a barbeque grille. AND there is parking space for I do not know how many cars. This will be a community home for the community volunteers. The owner is fixing the house up to our specifications. We will take possession on October 1. Please expect to share a bedroom. The house sleeps 16 people as currently configured and will probably house a few more if we make the modification we expect. You never know. You might have a room to yourself, but please figure on sharing. You'll be cooking and cleaning for yourselves so expect to do clean up on a regular basis to keep the house running. We will provide linens, dishes, pots, pans, etc. There will be a stove, of course, a fridge and such like. We'll be working hard to get this house ready and the first group of volunteers may have to take a hand in making that happen since we are short staffed here. Every Wednesday, we will ask you to collectively put in an order for the organic veggies that you will want for the coming week (we pick up on Friday) so you will need to work out a system for coming to that decision and letting us know what you want. We can work out the details when you get here, first wave, but start thinking about how you might like this to work. If you are not comfortable staying in a community house, there are other options, but this is the one that we can cover the costs of. I kinda wish I were staying there. I expect some serious fun! Yours in health and freedom, Dr. Rima This is a really nice house and we are so glad to have found it. I would really appreciate it if those of you with specific, or forming-up plans would let me know what they are as early as possible.

This sounds great. As a WWOOFer I am accustom to living in a tent and if I am lucky I get to share a room, live in a house. It is my aim to have a small carbon foot print and that means having less personal space. Particularly in a place where the weather is good and the scenery is beautiful one can find solitude in nature.

Dr. Rima, I may be coming by mid-October. I'll decide by the end of this month. I feel very strongly about supporting this organization, as well as living harmoniously in community. My finances are shit but that will not stop me. I believe I can be an asset to the organization, as well as the community...whether for a short or a long-term stay. Questions; 1) Do you know if it is OK(according to government) to fly to Costa Rica or Panama on a one way ticket? and 2) Do you have an opinion regarding the idea of flying to Costa Rica, then traveling by land across the border, before arriving in Volcan? Thanks and Blessings, Felix

We had a great call that went on for a full 2 hours with a good deal of interchange and mutual support. I am looking forward to more interactions like that! Thanks, all! Yours in health and freedom, Dr. Rima

NSF is going to Minnesota for an interview with Gov. Jesse Ventura on vaccines. He gets it. We'll be back on Sunday (leaving Friday). Yours in health and freedom, Dr. Rima

As a new kid on the block, and hearing such good news, the possibility of volunteering at this fantastic project is developing a reasonable focus. Anything can happen and I just may even make it there. What's the general protocol for the next step?
