Natural Solutions Foundation Volunteers

Well, our Volunteers' House is up and running. We have a 4 bedroom house with 4 people there now and more coming. Patricia Espinoza, our Volunteer Coordinator, is keeping things running smoothly. Gail Coba, our Executive Director, is posting the Volunteer's Handbook and forms which we need signed when you get here on the Wiki. Please fill out these forms, and, the others that are there, and email them to Patricia BEFORE you leave. Some developments which are important: All of our openings for Supported Volunteers, that is, people who come for whom we provide room and board have now been filled. From this point out, all of the positions we have available are Self Sustaining Volunteers. That is, you come to work and build the project and you pay for your keep. It costs us $400 for a single person, $500 for a couple per month to support people. If you want to volunteer and you can provide for your own upkeep, we would love to slot you in. Unfortunately, there were so many people who wanted to come as supported volunteers that we simply cannot accommodate all of those good folks since our resources are limited and although the work would be marvelous, we simply cannot support the numbers of people who are eager to come and participate without being able to support themselves. The internship is an on-going program in which Self Sustaining Volunteers come, stay in the Volunteer House and lend their efforts to the increasingly diverse programs which we are creating to fulfill the mission of the Valley of the Moon(TM) Eco Demonstration Project. To any and all interested parties reading this. I'd like to give a short introduction, and help to answer any questions you may have. First off, I have been one of the volunteers here for almost 2 months now, and this is my second tour of duty. I was here once before in late April/early May, and have since, moved here for good. Since I have been here, we have seen alot of developments, and tons of progress. Through our collective efforts, We have beat the "Swine Flu" pandemic, Bert and Rima will now be working with individuals within the Cattle and Agriculture agencies in the province of Chiriqui, as well as many local farmers very eager to learn the practices of Organic and Biodynamic. We are having a HUGE impact, as well as learning alot about creating our own sustainable, healthy food supply. Although we have had many successes, we still have many goals and projects ahead.
