VOLUNTEER PARTICPANT AGREEMENT

VOLUNTEER HOUSE - OCCUPANT AGREEMENT

TO EACH ITEM IN THIS AGREEMENT

 

___I/we agree to abide by the rules and regulations provided to me/us in the Natural Solutions Foundation's VotM Volunteer Handbook.  I/we received, read  and  signed  the VotM Volunteer Handbook on (date)_______________________.

 

___I/we have received ___ set(s) of keys and I/we have paid the $25.00 deposit per set of keys for my/our own key(s) to the Volunteer House.  I/we understand that this is a refundable deposit which will be refunded to me /us when I return the keys.

 

___I/we understand that if I cause or contribute to any damage to the house or property during my stay, that I will accept responsibility to repair or replace or correct any problems to its original state.

 

___I/we  understand that Patricia Espinosa is the House Manager. I will advise her of my departure dates and any changes in my plans, anticipated absences, etc., so that she can make adjustments needed for Food Supply deliveries and other managerial aspects of the Volunteer House

 

___I/we understand that if I/we have any difficulties or problems I can contact Patricia Espinosa to help  me /us resolve those difficulties.

 

___I/we understand that it is my responsibility to secure a Panama cell phone and to provide the number to Patricia Espinosa so that I can be contacted as necessary by the House manager.

 

___I/we have provided a completed copy of the Volunteer Project Form with all my/our contact information including my Panama cell phone number.

 

___I/we understand that I/we will be immediately evicted from the Volunteer House and terminated from the VotM project if I/we use any Illegal substances or devices during my/our stay in the Volunteer House or on any VotM premises.. No exceptions will be made to this rule.

 

___I/we understand that VotM is a smoke free project and that smoking is not permitted in the Volunteer House or on the premises.

 

___I/we understand that my responsibilities as a VotM volunteer include sharing the cleaning, cooking and daily maintenance of the Volunteer House and that the house is to be kept in a clean and presentable state at all times.

 

___I/we understand that my job responsibilities may shift from time to time and that I commit to working 5 days a week either from 9 AM to 5 PM or 10 AM to 6 PM, depending on the requirements of the work situation. I further understand that I will have 30 minutes for lunch. As with any other job, I understand that I am expected to be punctual, responsible and work diligently to fulfill the tasks I undertake.

 

___I/we understand that my labor and participation are voluntary and unreimbursed. I understand that no promise of employment or a permanent position has been made to me .

 

___I/we understand that my room and board will be supplied to me under the following terms:

 

1.       Organic food (or as close to organic food as possible under the circumstances) will be provided for me in the Volunteers' House. Any food which I consume off premises in restaurants, during travel or trips, etc., will be my responsibility.

2.       Shared accommodations will be provided for me in the Volunteers' House including linens and towels for my use while I/we am/are a volunteer at the VotM and that their laundry is my responsibility.

3.       Any personal items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and other personal items are my responsibility and are not provided by the Volunteer House.

 

___I/we am/are understand that there are two types of VotM volunteers: those who are Self Sustaining and those who are supported. Both types of Volunteers have been accepted by the VotM to support and further their work and goals. Self Sustaining Volunteers agree to pay the VotM $400 per month for a single person's room and board or $500 for a couple's room and board. These numbers are subject to adjustment based on the cost of goods and services to provide these services. Supported volunteers receive room and board worth $400 for a single person and $500 for a couple per month. No cash supplement will be received by volunteers. ___I/we understand that if I am a US tax payer, I/we may ask for and receive a tax donation receipt for the cost of my transportation, Self Sustaining Volunteer payments and other expenses associated with my participation here as a Self Sustaining Volunteer. If my/our participation is on a Supported Volunteer basis, a tax deduction letter is available for my transportation costs to and from Valley of the Moon.

 

___I/we understand that I/we am/are sharing this House with others who have agreed to these same terms. My/Our intention is to engage and participate with all the members of the Valley of the Moon project

I/we assume responsibility for the success and enjoyment of everyone.
