The apps, or modules, offered on groups represent the core building blocks of your social network. It's entirely your choice whether to use one or many, and there are no limits or charges for adding apps to your group. - Newsfeed
Activate your network's Newsfeed and get an instant run-down of the latest in your community, customizable to include new members and friendships, forum posts, announcements and more.
- People
Access group member profiles, check out their latest group activity and contributions, send and receive personal messages, add users to your friend list and more.
- Blogs
The Blogs module makes it easy for you and your members to post blogs from within your group, or add an external RSS feed that will be easily accessible in one convenient location. You and your members can follow blogs that other members own and/or may be interested in, share on Facebook, and benefit from email update options to keep posted on the latest new content.
- Forum
You can use the Forum module for all your group’s communication needs! Host online discussions organized by category, and even have forums unique to subgroups within your social network, accessible to a select segment of your membership. Options available include email updates on new forum posts, sharing on Facebook, and custom RSS.
- Chat
You can engage in a real-time group chat with other group members who are online using the Chat module, and admins have the option of enabling or disabling chat history. Members browsing the group from their smart phones using one of the GROU.PS mobile apps can also chat with all online group members.
- Photos
The Photos module makes image sharing easy. Create albums to organize photos, and allow users to create their own. You have full control over privacy settings, and can also take advantage of the options to aggregate Flickr accounts or enter them individually. Allow your users to share on photos, comment on and 'like' photos.
- Videos
Your very own YouTube! You can upload videos to your group and share it with your community. According to your preferences, group admins or admins and members can share videos located online through embed codes, or upload their own content. A few clicks is all it takes to share the videos on Facebook and beyond, and you can add watermarks to your content for security.
- Wiki
You can create web pages easily, share documents, and collaborate. You can also arrange e-mail settings, permission about wiki discussions, menu side, the people who can read/edit the content, templates, people who can add categories and custom templates with ‘Administer This Module’ section.
- Events
Create a calendar to keep your members updated and advertise upcoming happenings using the Events module. Share your agenda and invite people to events, and allow members to do the same if you'd like. Use group messaging functions and alerts to make sure nobody misses out.
- Funds
The Funds module allows group admins to raise money for a cause or for themselves, and is directly integrated into PayPal. This module can be used to sell tickets, charge group membership fees, and much more. Start a campaign with a specified target goal and end date, or leave these options open -- it's up to you.
- Groups
Using the Groups module, you can create subgroups within your social network to increase engagement among your members. Subgroups feature their own photo-sharing space and discussion forums open to members only, which makes it easy to create areas of focus according to interest, specialization, or any other category.
- Files
Share files and collaborate in an online workspace through your own Downloads section! You can control who can view, edit and upload content to the section. Most major file types are supported by this module, which makes sharing a broad range of files quick and easy.
- Map
You can check in either online or from your smart phone, and find other users near you and check out where people have been. The Map module features a world map displaying members' current locations and souvenirs with photos.
- Links
You can share links and bookmarks through this module, and aggregate del.icio.us, digg, reddit accounts. Adjust your admin settings for the Links module to allow members to share links as well, and also to vote on links. The module is fully customizable, and users can sort by the most popular links, link add date, and more.
