I can't comment on HTC devices. The only device I've used is the Axim for
Sunvox.

Just picked up a cheap HP iPAQ PE2050 yesterday and SunVox is just as
glitch-free with the demo tunes, except when you drag the resize bar around.
Oddly, the Palm Tunsgen T3 seemed to do a better job.

Interestingly, I've been playing around with Meteor and it's a really great
multitrack audio recorder. There's alot of very nice features packed into that
program. I really like Griff but I wish that it allowed for real time note input via an on-screen keyboard rather than having to enter everything onto a grid. With the advent of the IPhone, the Pocket PC is overlooked as a music making tool. |

to pfontaine2: on which device have you run the apps? i've tried a demo of
meteor on my MDA Pro and it stuttered evrey 0,5 second. i dont know, maybe gsm and wifi modules make the htc just slow? unfotunatelly, i cant directly compare a HP or Dell device with a HTC one. |

Hi Boombaum, I'm running Meteor on a Dell Axim X30. I purchased it on ebay for about $60. It's really a nice little device. However, there's an audible hum whenever I load up any audio and music-related software, which is really quite unfortunate considering that I purchased the Axim to run audio-music related software. Truth be told, all I've really done with Meteor is sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat onto one track, copy it four times then offset each track to create instant singing in the round. I am able to load up effects on each track without any problems, which leads me to believe that I could actually record a fair amount without any glitching. BTW, I only have the free demo version at this point. I'll likely purchase one of the multitrack apps for my Ipod Touch very soon. I hope that helps! |

I've got a second hand HTC TyTN and sunvox is running fine on this machine. it
also works on HTC Touch, but far not as smooth as on the TyTN.

fwiw..I've used lots of apps on my dell axim x50v (the 520mhz) and it handles
them all well...I get no clicks or pops with multiple tracks and effects
running in meteor..the sunvox demo works great and I use milkytracker on it a
lot...its a good pda...the only things that annoy me are...battery life is
pretty poor and an extended battery is definately reccomended (about £10 on the
bay) and it has none persistant memory which means you have to have to load
your apps from a backup utility (thats included on the axim) if your main and
backup battery run out. concretedog |

just a short "report". TyTN's battery and performance RULE! Up to two days
without recharging the battery! Cool! I'm working with Aurora by 4Pockets now
and it's a great piece of software! unfortunatelly the file management is not
really optimized for a stylus handling. especially loading samples is very
involved. the only not-very-good point of the TyTN is a display. It's big
enough to work with, but it's not a comfortable working. A wish it had a bigger
display to dell axim x50v: no persistant memory? really? my girlfriend had a HTC Magician for some years and i HATED it, to load the backup data when she forgot to recharge the battery. could anybody say something about Asus MyPal devices? 626 is really cheap now and it has a bigger display than my TyTN. What's about battery and performance? some experiences? |

Palm Sounds have posted some stuff about SunVox on Dell Axim x50v and it seems running much better.
Are there some recommendations out there? Are the new HTC devices good for running SunVox or similar?
