Just this week I heard about the Fireboard's fork project named Kunena. Here, I am posting my very OWN view about this project. This view is totally based on my personal experience. If I am wrong, I myself will be very very happy. Well, I was quite interested when I heard the project but as time pass, more inner information comes out, my hope on Kunena fades away. Reasons - 1. Though BoJ is referring Kunena, but there is no relation between them. No BoJ's prime developers are there in the project, except - fxstein. BoJ is just referring the 1st Fork Project they got. BoJ is DEAD. 2. The project is lead by - fxstein. I don't know whether its a good news or a bad news. fxstein took - 1 years to bring FB1.0.5 from super buggy FB1.0.4 2 years to bring FB1.0.5 RC1 from FB1.0.5 2 years to bring FB1.0.5 RC2 from FB1.0.5 RC1 ..... and finally STABLE version never came out. Same guy has started from ALPHA version, that also for 1.0.x platform. Then for 1.5 platform, than 1.6 platform....... wondering the time-span of the Roadmap. 3. History Repeats itself. This time very BAD repetitions. 1st there was Simple-Board, then fork to Joomla-Board, then fork to Fireboard and now Kunena. All of them have a common thing, none of them ever come to close to a stable version that can be used in a well reputed site, say sites with Google Rank above 4. If your site is new or small or low traffic, you can use any buggy system above. For stability, IPB or vBilletin are well-known. I had a dream to make FB as powerful as VB but BoJ and Danial broke it a long time ago.
