Welcome to the landmark of Pallet Town! This place was fondly remembered as the starting town of the 1st Generation region Kanto as well as the hometowns of trainers Red and Blue (Ash and Gary in the anime). Currently, there is not much to do here but it would not hurt to look around and gain bits of information. After you are done, you may head to Route 1 (E).

Professor Oak's Lab (C)

Oh, look! It is Professor Oak, in the living flesh! You recognize him, right? He is the most famous researcher of Pokemon in the Pokemon universe. He made his home at Pallet Town where he does his observation and research work. Also, DONT forget to speak with Prof. Oak and get your most valuable tool as a Pokemon trainer; your new Pokedex!! In other news, he seems to like his old school games! Read this for more details.

Now that you have finished sightseeing, let's move onward to Viridian City! Where better place to start than Route 1?

Route 1

This is the first area where you will encounter wild Pokemon! It is not a very difficult place to get through but beware of Rattata's Tail Whip + Tackle combo. It can be quite nasty. Be sure to talk to the NPCs and read the sign on the way for hints and directions. Near the exit of Route 1, two trainer NPCs await you (Schoolgirl Joyce & Schoolboy Cliff). If you have not leveled your Starter Pokemon, you are in for a couple of difficult fights!
