Continue on to Cerulean City.
Cerulean has more then once entrance and exit. Before battling the gym leader Misty, I suggest exploring these exits because they have more trainers to help you train for Misty.
To the North is Route 24. There are 5 tough trainers in a row which an old man warns you about before you take this Route. You do not have to battle these trainers consecutively(one after another without rest). Go back to the PokeCenter if you are too weak to battle the next trainer.
Route 24 wild Pokemon:
Bellsprout(69)- Common
Oddish(43)- Common
Pidgey(16)- Common
Sunkern(191)- Common

This Route will take you to a Secret Tunnel, but it is a dead end.
Head back to Cerulean City.
To the South of Cerulean City there is a man who wont let you through a gate unless you have a Cascade badge.
After you explore you are ready to battle Misty. Her pokemon are tough! Make sure you have the right type of Pokemon and the Levels to battle her! If you are not ready, go back and train on wild Pokemon.
