Client troubleshooting
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you're experiencing a problem with regards to your client, then hopefully this guide will be able to help.
Black and white screen
When logging into the client you may find that most of your client is white boxes instead of looking how it should. This means that your client files are likely corrupt and will need replacing. You can download a zip folder with the files you need to replace here. From your pwo GFX folder (Usually can be found in My Computer -> C: -> Program files -> Pokemon World Online -> Files -> GFX), you need to delete the current ones and then move the ones from the downloaded folder to there.

The folder should contain the following items:

Client keeps closing after leaving the game
This is a common issue when using Vista or Win7. To fix it you just need to restart your pc user.
Client out of date
You need to run the pwoUpdater. You can view a guide on how to run it here.
Failed to init Direct3D
See guide here
MSVBVM60.DLL
Get an error message similar to the following - "A required DLL file MSVBVM60.DLL was not found.". If you do then try downloading the following (http://download.microsoft.com/download/vb60pro/Redist/sp5/WIN98Me/EN-US/vbrun60sp5.exe) and hopefully you should beable to run the game.
No sound
If you are still not hearing any sounds coming from the client even though the client isn't on mute, then you need to edit your options.ini file. To do this go to your pokemon world online files folder (usually located in C:/Program files/Pokemon World Online/Files). Once there, open up your options files. You'll probably see the following text.
[Game]
Weather=1
Shadow=1
Volume=0
Sound=0
Follow=1
Remember_Pass=0
Username=
Password=
Change both Sound and Volume over 1. Then go and save it. You should now beable to hear the music ingame. If you get the error 'Access is denied' while saving then you need to change your user settings. To do this just right click on the options.ini file and then click on properties. Once the properties window opens, you need to click on the Security tab and then select your group. Once you selected your group, click on edit (you will likely require to login as administrator to change the following settings on Vista and Win7). You can then check the box by Full Control, click on 'Apply' and then 'Apply' for the properties, you should then beable to edit and save the file.

If the above does not work, it could be that you are missing the required codec. Check that you have Windows Media Player installed, and if you don't, get it from here.
No text
If your client is appearing like the one shown in the image below then you need to download two files, Download the files from here or here and then extract. You then need to place the font3 file in your GFX folder (usually located in C:/Program files/Program files/Pokemon World Online/files/GFX). The thumbs.db needs to be placed in your images folder (usually located in C:/Program files/Pokemon World Online/Images). Once you done this your client should look as normal.
Actually, the Thumbs.db file shouldn't even be needed, because this file is only used by Windows to offer previews of images when you click them in Windows Explorer - and isn't used by the game at all. - Jinji.

PWO is already running
If you get this message just after trying to open your client, you need to end the process. To do this, you need to open Task Manager and click on Processes. You can find task manager either by doing Ctrl + Alt + Del or by right click on your task bar and choosing Task Manager from there. Once there you need to look for PWO.exe and once you find it, click on 'End Process'. Hopefully you should beable to run the client now.
