Now there is this one mute person who wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating
the action of brushing one's teeth, he successfully expressses himself to the
shopkeeper and the purchase is done. Now if there is a blind man who wishes to
buy a pair of sunglasses, how should he express himself?

TALK TO GOD ----------

God: Hello. Did you call me? Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated
now? God: Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it
complicated. Me: Why are we then constantly unhappy? God: Your today is the
tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are
analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy. Me:
But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty? God: Uncertainty is
inevitable, but worrying is optional. Me: But then, there is so much pain due
to uncertainty... God: Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional. Me: If
suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God: Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified
without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that
experience their life becomes better, not bitter. Me: You mean to say such
experience is useful? God: Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher.
She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards. Me: But still, why should
we go through such tests? Why can't we be free from problems? God: Problems are
Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons to Enhance Mental Strength.
Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from
problems. Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we
are heading... God: If you look outside you will not know where you are
heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken.
Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

DrRos's Tacit Knowledge Sharing of The Month (February)

Dearest All JPTians,

This February month, I would like to share with all of you how IT technology
management can assist our academic assessment process, namely administering an
exam / test. Administer an exam...! Are you kidding me Ros... All
lecturers and tutors have already known how to conduct or administer a test.
Yes, I do know you all are better than me in administering a test, be it
Test 1 or 2 etc.

What I'm getting at is... online test / exam. Yes, online test...!, it saves
us our time in administering it, marking it and saving lots of paper too.
If you are already an active user of E-learning Blackboard System, you ought to
use THIS GREAT feature of online test. Every semester, on my taught subject, I
engage one online test, esp. Test 1. Of course, final exam you cannot
execute online, must be conventional approach at Exam Hall @ F2. Majority of my
students said they liked online test approach.

Here's how to prepare and execute an online test...

(1) Prepare the soft copy file of your Test, as normally done via Word. This
file contents will be cut-and-paste into online test.

(2) Log-in into e-Learning Blackboard System.

(3) Create an entry dialog box for "Online Test", set the features you need,
eg. multiple choices, or essay, set the marks, time

(4) Launch the online test and normally I give my students within 3 days to
answer the test ( time it to 60 min. or 90 min. etc.)

(5) If the exam is set 60 mins, student must "SUBMIT" their answers within
60 mins or earlier

(6) If students got technical glitches, lecturers as "administrators" can
always reset it, so student may retake the test.

(7) Marking is a breeze with online test, the computer marks it for you; if
it is all multiple choices.

(8) Sounds tough, no problem... contact me or Mr. Hemmy (CAD-453 7474) for
support. Once you know, it is always easy.

(9) To learn new things, there must always be a first time trial; else we
never learn new knowledge.

(10) Keep learning and trying new knowledge means our tomorrow shall be
better than today..... TQVM DrRos.
