Well we are well and truly settled in now and have had many functions with guests from all over the world. Today the central heating has been turned on, just as well because a cold snap has arrived and the high is -8c and -26c overnight but it is only temporary, we hope.
This is a slide show of the happenings during the looking, buying and fitting out of our home, all in no particular order.

A bit over a year ago, my sister Helen and brother David and Davids wife Lee came on a fleeting visit to China. We flew down from Shenyang to Shanghai and met up there. Had a look around some of Shanghai, it is a big city and I, personally do not like big cities so I was pleased when we caught the fast train to Hangzhou which is a very beautiful place.
Had a look at many sites there, courtesy of Mei's friends son, who is the Tourism boss for that province. After the family members returned to NZ, Mei and I went on to Sanya, which is a lovely tropical paradise that rivals Hawaii but not so commercial. A great break away and it doubled as our honeymoon.

The weather here has been a little unsettled, on Friday we were expecting rain but it was still fine until mid afternoon and then it just clouded over at about 3.00pm and turned our city into dark cold place, so dark it was like midnight, a very unusual feeling at that time in the afternoon.

It thundered and plenty of lightening but finished about two hours later but by then it was night time anyway.

This morning it was quite cool at –5c and overcast so felt a little bitter and then a few flurries of snow, they are having quite a lot of snow further north of us. It will be a bit unsettled now through to the end of November and then into real winter.

Had a good chat with Sheri, Darren, Helen and Sonny so caught up on the news around New Zealand. We are enjoying a very long weekend, 8 days actually, to celebrate China's National Day and also Mid-Autumn Festival happened at the same time this year so both holidays were combined. I have actually got 12 days off but have one or two special classes so it is good.
Still around 20 to 23c during the day but getting colder at night, down to 0 or 1 or 2 so winter is coming soon.
