Yessi, UKRG Radio is moving to a new site...

The current site you are using is hosted by "Grou.ps" and they have recently
started to charge for this service. So we at UKRG have created a brand new
"Facebook" style website just for our members to come and enjoy. This should be
the final time that we move this social network site as it will now be totally
hosted and controlled by UKRG.

The new site has all the basics required but we will be adding new features
over the coming months and please feel free to suggest features you would like
to see on the new site.

The new site is now open and live, please find it HERE

Also be aware, this current grou.ps owned site will be closing in a few months,
so get yourself over to the new site and register, then simply use that site
from now on....

The Dangers of Java

Greets all,

I've just spent the last 48 hours reformatting and reinstalling Windows and all
my apps after getting a virus that basically killed my machine. The virus came
in via a Java app on a website and this is now becoming quite a common thing as
I have heard plenty of people over this past few months say the same thing with
very similar viruses. Many of these people never go to or do any dodgy
downloading, their problems started with apps that are found on fairly safe
sites such as Facebook. Even if you are using a good safe browser such as
Firefox, there is a flaw within the Java system that allows unwanted stuff to
be downloaded and then run on your system without you knowing about it or even
clicking on anything.

Because of this flaw, UKRG has removed anything relating to Java from our
website and I would suggest to all our members that you uninstall Java
Runscript from your PC and avoid any plugins or apps on website's that use
Java. There are a few dangerous viruses going around at the moment that
basically rip out Windows Explorer from your system and when that happens, you
can't run or do anything and some even make it very hard to back up your data
before you have to reformat.

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I am very paranoid about where I go and
what I do on the internet but this one got into my system without me clicking
on anything dodgy and my AV picked it up but after the damage had been
done...

Greetings from UK Reggae Guide
I am writing to you to offer the opportunity to dj a live Friday night special
as part of our
ongoing commitment to roots & dub music.

Friday night is the slot we leave open for such specials to happen, featuring
different dj,s and soundsystems from around the globe, this is a good way
of promotion for up & coming dances, new material, and helps reach a wider
audience.
This is an ongoing opportunity and we hope to feature many of you over the
coming year.

If you feel you are interested in doing a Friday special, please get back to me
to discuss details further (time, promotion, software for streaming etc)

Uk Reggae Guide Radio is a station dedicated to the movement of conscious and
righteous vibes.

If a Friday special is not something you can do, but feel you could
contribute to the station in other ways, such as jingles, music, or tickets to
give away in competitions please get in touch, we would love to hear from
you.

Give thanks

UKRG CONTACT DATABASE

Greetings all, I am currently compiling a database of important contacts for
UKRG Radio.

I am asking if members can pass on their email
address to me to add to this database.
The reason for this is to keep you all updated on any radio related news,
happenings, promos etc.
Why not mass mail from grou.ps you ask?
This is because the database will also include non UKRG members such as labels,
soundsystems, promoters.

Everything is in the strictest of confidence and will be used only for the
above mentioned purpose.

please email your details to digikal.roots@ukreggaeguide.co.uk
