Healthy eating habits, good table manners, quality family time and more! Here’s a recipe that is sure to bring a ROI.Ingredients:4 large apples? cup of brown sugar? cup of dried cherries; chopped? cup of walnuts; chopped2 tsp of cinnamon? tsp of nutmeg1 Tbsp of butterDirections:Preheat the oven to 350? degrees. Core the apples until there’s a 1 inch hole all the way through. Mix the other ingredients in a bowl, except for the butter, letting the kids help. I use dried cherries because they add vitamin A and iron to the recipe. Plus they introduce a taste beyond raisins and they’re delicious! Stuff the apples with the mixture (little fingers are great helpers here). Place the apples in an 8x8 baking pan that has a little water in the bottom. Dot the top of the stuffing with the butter.Bake for 30 – 40 minutes. Apples should be soft but not mushy. Guild the lily and serve with a little ice cream (good calcium).~Posted by Dana Weber, Library Connect Marketing Intern, Elsevier, San Diego; d.weber@elsevier.com Get how-to info useful to librarians on the ground: Updated Elsevier.com page offers links galore
