Stop The Stink

Hey guys, in addition to the Stop the Stink website (www.stopthestink.ca), we thought that this site would also be helpful in fight against the construction of an odour control facility at Altona and Finch. Right now there are tidbits of information floating around and this site helps place them all in one location for everyone to review. Also, the site will allow us to instantly consider ideas and suggestions for upcoming community meetings. Go to the forums and add your messages, information and thoughts and together we can successfully oppose the construction of the odour control facility at Altona and Finch

Got an email from Councillor Rick Johnson, Vice Chair of the Works Committee (and Pickering Regional Councillor). He spoke with "John Presta, Regional Manager for water and sewer, who said Feb 25th meeting, would have a much more in depth report on the OCF." The more people we have at this meeting the better. Councillor Bill McLean (Durham Region Councillor for Pickering) has heard that York Region would like to take some residents to what engineers say is a similar odour control facility in Ottawa. There is no formal offer yet, however, he would like an estimate of how many residents would like to go on the trip. I've added a poll to this website that you can find to the right of this message to see if we can gauge interest.
