I thought the slow speed might have been a local problem with me, hmm that's something to think about...

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming folks. I think we'll give it a couple of weeks and then i'll taek soundings, perhaps using a poll!!!

Good work Mark but the pages seem as slow as Tranmere's defence!!.....Hope you do better than John Barnes at sortiing it out.

Not sure what i can do apart from look for a faster one.... Will tweak this one a bit and see, but if it's a pain we'll go for another. It is a test after all.

A bit slow loading pages here. Hey and less of the insults about Tranmere. We kept the score to a respectable level at 5-0. John Barnes for manager of the month.

My PC is usually quite slow but this late at night it's (note placement of apostrophe Mark) pretty quick.

Thanks for getting this test site up & running Mark.

Was tediously slow yesterday while registering etc but seems much better today - have you changed anything?

Also I can't figure how to easily bring up the Forum Index page from anywhere else (even Home page) - must be missing something obvious!

I have changed a few settings in the admin stuff, just guesswork really but it does seem to have speeded up today. Steve, click on the 'Tattenhall Runners' title (top left) or use the "breadcrumb trial! (just above the first post in the thread) to get back to the index page. I think (still learning myself)...

Is anyone else having problems viewing this forum?

From time to time it won't open on my computer, I get a timed out/frozen page saying the page is unavailable. I try other sites which always seem to work ok, then when I come back a few hours later to view this forum it works again. Very strange.

Also, when people are putting links on it, can they use the 'links' tab, or is it possible to copy the link from the post and then paste them into the browser address bar?

Cheers,
Dave.

Yes Dave, I've had the experience you describe - it does seem a bit temperamental !

I'm not really sure what else i can so about that folks. It's a bit flakey i can see, although i never seem to have a problem - lucky i guess. Could you make a note, just a mental note will do, of how often this happens? Ta

Happened with me on Sunday night. 'The Page Could Not be Displayed' was all I would get after several minutes of hanging. All other sites were working fine.

Hmmm, not too happy about the reliability of this. It's fine when it works, but this is starting to get annoying. Let me see ewhat i can do...

I am unable to load my boat race on to My Details, the page just keeps indicating "loading " forever. Is this a known problem are you just exercising reasonable management of unwanted spam?

Also each page (as indicated by the little blue circle thingy) just keeps on loading, although i can read the page...

Eventually it says
ERROR

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://grou.ps/chat.php?

The following error was encountered:

Nick,

I also had a problem with loading my avatar picture with a picture of myself. Eventually I got a response from the web host confirming that this was because they did not want to frighten small children....maybe you need to reconsider the photo?

Wasn't working yesterday morning - I could see Sharon had replied to the jubilee plunge thread but couldn't read what she had posted as the page wouldn't open. Today it seems Paul has posted a reply to the UTMB thread, but it doesn't show it ??

Wondered if it was my pc, but Nick confirmed he had had similar problems

It's frustrating as these things seem to right themselves. It is a bit flaky, but i can't seem to do much else now. All i can do is find another forum. What do people think?
