Dear all

I'm going to be working away for the next few months and won't be able to take any session for the foreseeable. So in order to share the coaching out, and to promote some new ideas, we're going to throw things open a bit.

What we want is for all runners in the A group to volunteer to take one session, which could be a Tuesday or Thursday. We (i.e. the committee) would really like everyone to take us on their favourite session, or perhaps something they want to try. We'd like all runners to do at least one session over the next few months, so please could you all do two things:

1 - think of a session you'd like to take
2 - email back (laurel_bank1@btinternet.com) with a date you'd like to reserve (and a back up date incase someone gets in before you)
(oh and 3, turn up and take the session!)

Please could you respond with a date before the end of next week, i.e. 22 January?

We'll put a rota together and publish it so you can see when you are in charge and when your fellow clubmates are going to put you through your paces!

This will really help the club and should freshen up the sessions too.

Thanks

Mark Smith

Alison/Mark,

As a coach, I'm happy to plug the gaps. I'd perfer to take Thursdays and would like to make it one evening a week at the most, but I can be flexible.

I hear that Nick is taking next week's Thursday session. Well done for volunteering. I'm looking forward to it.

I suppose when this discussion first started I was largely referring to off road summer running. The scope for new routes etc on road is much more limited, but it still leaves new or modified routines. However, if periodically road routes or rarely used routines are suggested, it will hopefully take the onus off the coaches in having to think routes/content each week. Although it must be said that our coaches have done a great job in establishing new road routes/routines

So, I better get thinking.

PS Will Andy Blair be excluded from this, or are we OK with a bit of motorway running?

Andy Blair 'Alright mate, can you tell me which road takes me home to Chester I seem to have got myself lost again?'

Helpful Passer-by 'Bien sur Monsieur, si vous courez sur l'autoroute A6 au direction vers Lyon et continuez tout droit pour sept jours....'

Alistair, It's a long story. Let's just say that Andy and Sara realised (after some time) that they had inadvertantly joined a motorway via some roadworks when lorry drivers started blowing their horns at Sara (no dout waering her hot pants)!

This was quite some time ago and Andy is being a good sport about it. I would just remind Dave S that he got lost during the SandStone Trail race. Let he who is without sin...

I hear that Nick is taking next week's Thursday session. Well done for volunteering. I'm looking forward to it.

Due to a double booking incident I will have to bail out of Thursdays session. So I guess normal service will be resumed. I am happy to move my 'fixture' to the following week if that is Ok

My turn tonight - planning about 9 miles, largely flat as a change from the hills of last 2 weeks.

Hi there
Thank you for taking the session last Thursday Steve!
Unfortunately I can't make it down to the club tomorrow. A group - here is your challenge, should you choose to accept it!
warm up to Burwardsley post office
session: 4 x lower loops. Recovery is the last section from the phone box to the post office
Steady run back to the club
Enjoy and see you on Thursday!
