SO, I thought I would share.... I put my four year old daughter into the car today to take her to school. On the way, i went ahead and popped in a CD of various blues. She leans forward and says "Robert Johnson! He's my favorite!" Sure enough, Kindhearted Woman was playing. I was very impressed. Though I do listen to quite a bit of blues, I have never had a conversation with her about the blues, let alone Robert Johnson. How she knew it was him, I will never know. But I plan to start having more talks with her in the very near future!

You know, those things surprise me as well. Once I was talking to this woman who works at my mother's house. Apparently she knew Robert Johnson, Skip James, Lonny Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, all of them. Highly unexpected, since I don't live on the US, and here blues isn't common at all, let alone old blues like those. Apparently her now dead husband traveled to Iraq in the 80's, he used to bring all sorts of records, both LPs and incredibly 78s! I showed her pictures, she is sure she had Blind Lemon Jefferson and others on old 78s! When I ask the where abouts, she said after her husband died, the family just gave it all away, they don't even remember who to, since it was several people. Just to think about what could be in there.... Oh and awww, I was thinking it was like a picture of your 4 yr old and RJ - disappointed, if I may Just kidding lol.
