Really sad news about Tony Robins. I
have always known Tony as a strong and calm character and to be struck down
with this illness at such a stage of his life is awful. I will write to
Jeanette to offer sympathy and help.

This is very sad news, I remember Tony 'down route' as a crew chief, guitar in hand. Zoe has written on behalf of the association. Tony |

Really saddened to hear this News, I feel that Tony guided me through my
early days as a tradesman and young man on The Queens Flight and contributed in
making me the person i am today. I owe thanks to Tony and send him and his
family my very best regards.
I am thinking of you all..

ActivityRank: 0 This is such sad sad news. I too remember Tony having worked with him on the Flight for many years what a nice guy. I despair at the doc's as we hear so many times of their slow diagnosis. My thoughts are with Tony, Jeanette and family. |

I received a letter from Jeanette Robins today.
She is living a nightmare. Tony's de-generation has been more rapid
than anybody thought. He is now bedridden. He has lost the use of
his arms and hands and is now loosing his speech. Jeanette is
trying to fight to get the treatment that Tony needs but I fear that she is a
small voice and is not getting any support from her GP.
I have offered help but I'm afraid there
is very little anyone can do except offer sympathy. Such a very sad
saga.

As Mike said, a very sad saga.
The Association have been in touch with
both the RAF Benevolent Fund, and the local Branch of the RAF Association to
ensure Jeanette is given the support needed at this time and in the the
future.

"It is with great sad news and regret I have to inform the Association of Tony's medical discharge from the RAF on 16th March of this year.
He had been complaining of not being well after his return from a tour of duty in Basra in 2007. The doctors in their wisdom didn't beleive him until a spell in the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham in January of 2009. There he was told he had 'Cortico Basal Degeneration' a rare form of Parkinsons with no medication available. The last medical board sat in August of that year.
On moving to our present address, our first ever home of our own, in September 2009, Tony has gone down very quickly. He can do very little for himself and needs constant care, and is losing the power of speech."
