I'm really interested to hear about communication with professors- in my
experience, it's so hit-or-miss!! |

I agree, Sarah, reaching those professors/adjuncts that don't already love the
library can be tricky. This particular topic is ongoing in the professional
literature and is so important that could be addressed in its own session. In
fact, Embedded Librarians: Moving Beyond One-Shot Instruction, newly
published by ACRL, discusses approaches to faculty/librarian communications
within faculty/librarian collaborations. I hope that Paul and I will be able to
get everyone thinking about communication with professors and adjuncts with
regard to instruction session planning. |

I love the idea of long-term planning. Everything I do is so spur of the
moment. |

Presented by: Jessica E. Moad, Paul Stenis
Paul and Jessica will discuss the various issues that arise while planning for instruction sessions, including communication with professors, script writing, creating assignments, and using blogs, LibGuides, and wikis. Attendees will split up into groups, be given several scenarios, and will plan for those scenarios.
