Wilderness Adventures & Journeys is a community/social network/group for people who share a common interest in bushwalking, camping and wilderness. It provides an opportunity for visitors to join and then contribute and participate in all that is happening.
Members are able to contribute to a growing knowledge base in the wiki (Wildpedia - an encyclopedia for all things bushwalking, camping and wilderness, built by the members for the members).
Members are also able to start discussions in the forum, as well as contributing to them.
Members are able to share photos and videos of their experiences in the wilderness while bushwalking and/or camping, or whatever they may be of in relation to wilderness and their experiences of it.
Members have the opportunity to start their own Blog here, or import their Blog (as I have) from elsewhere via their feed.
That of course is just the beginning of what you can do here, for the directory at the top of the page includes much more (such as sharing links, starting a group, etc).
Please join and get involved - there is room enough for us all.

The NSW Road Trip 2010 is now over, so there will be no more ‘real time’ updates of the site. The website for the road trip, which includes links to photos at Flickr, a Google Map, an online journal from the trip, links to Blog posts, etc, can be foun [...]

It is now day 5 of the road trip and I have already covered almost 3000km. As you can appreciate covering that amount of territory in 5 days doesn’t leave a lot of time to Blog, especially when I have been trying to keep the website updated as well. See [...]

It is now the day prior to the NSW Road trip 2010. I have begun packing and getting ready for the journey that lies ahead. I don’t expect to be taking a lot of gear, as I won’t be doing a lot of cooking, washing, etc, on this trip. I have learnt that [...]

The planning for my holiday is now well and truly underway, with the holiday now being referred to as my ‘NSW Road Trip 2010.’ There is also a website address for viewing my itinerary and for following my progress. It has been a rushed process in the [...]

Is it possible that the last known Jaguar in the United States has been killed by a government employee? This could indeed be the case according to news reports out of the United States. The Jaguar was caught in Arizona and released with a radio tag. Howe [...]

As my holiday draws closer my plans have changed yet again. Back in November 2009 I rolled my right ankle badly and it has not yet recovered to the extent that it would allow me to do a lot of bushwalking – especially on slopes. So this has meant a comp [...]

There are always pros and cons when it comes to such issues as to whether or not people should be allowed to climb Uluru in the Northern Territory, Australia. To continue to allow visitors to climb the monolith is to go against the wishes of the tradition [...]
