If you aren't doing this then you're not doing a paranormal investigation. We
owe it to our clients to give them the truth. We as paranormal Investigators
have to look for rational explanations; once we have ruled out all natural
causes can only be the time where we say that paranormal activity exists. It's
a tough road to follow but the dedication and desire to find the truth keeps us
going Research, Research and more Research, the history of a location could
bring a wealth of information. You can find it to be in a toxic area, built on
a graveyard. You can find names of people that died there. You can get names to
use when doing your EVP work. Find out what was at the site before the home
was. Electrical issues can cause a high EMF. When you do your tour of the home,
do a quick EMF scan, this can alert you to areas that may arise during the
investigation. EMF side effects can be very harmful to those that are around
this and causes for concern about the long-term effects of the exposure to
these high levels. You can get the feeling of being watched, headaches, seeing
unexplained phenomena, feel nausea and become dizzy. Also look outside the home
for overhead power lines. We should also bring in the plumbing facts of this
into our discussion. For those that hear unexplained noises in your walls or
under your floors, you may want to take a look and see if there could possibly
be any loose pipes. Running water through pipes can sound like rapping or
banging noises, some could also give the effect of footsteps depending on what
location you are in your home. Mold and mildew are toxic; these can also cause
health issues and should be removed. They only need a damp and moist
environment and an organic material to establish themselves to. A lot of side
effects are sometime confused with paranormal occurrences. Check for leaking
basements, If you see a build up on the wall this could be mold or cause mold.
Water leaks in a bathroom or kitchen can cause mold and mildew. You should open
cupboards and look. Look at the walls and ceilings for a possible water leak,
this could cause mold and mildew. Chemicals, including unused paint, automotive
chemicals, being stored inside your home should be immediately looked into and
removed from any living quarters. This is hazardous to the entire family. This
can cause paranormal symptoms, but worse can cause health issues. Another thing
to consider is looking for animals in your home. Not only can they get into
your attic, they could also get inside your walls. The noises can range from
scratching, unexplained noises, and things dropping to footsteps and can
totally mislead someone into thinking that it is of paranormal nature. Then
there is the home owner, we may have alerted them to possible health hazards
and added years to there lives. We have to feel good about this right? Only to
be thanked by them upset there home isn't haunted. Does this sound exciting or
more like a lot of work? The research is the fun part of an investigation. The
investigation is the work and that leads us to the part that we all want to
sleep through the reviewing evidence. You ask yourself is it worth it? We look
at thousands of pictures, countless hours of video and enough digital
recordings to make you hate static. Then ...... something paranormal and its
all worth it.
