UI Slider
UI Slider
Problem:
In a scene with varying numbers of levels it is possible to forget what zoom level you are on and become lost.
Rationale:
Some method of knowing how "deep" you are could be helpful, thus a physical indicator in the UI that shows/controls zoom level is a good idea. Often this is optimal for very large/deep scenes such as a map.
Variants:
- Simple slider in the UI to indicate zoom level.
- Another variant allows the user to control the zoom level with the slider.
Known Uses:
Google Maps has a UI Slider that both indicates and controls zoom level, zooming the scene around the center of the screen.
Bing Maps has a UI Slider that both indicates and controls zoom level and provides hot links to various useful zoom level.
